Licensing
How do I obtain a licence for the Signature SDK for Windows and how much does it cost?
Evaluation licences
You can download evaluation licences from our Developer Relations Web site licensing section
These are normally valid for three months after which you can renew them or request a full licence.
Commercial licences
A production licence for the Signature SDK for Windows Lite version and its SigCaptX cross-browser subcomponent is provided in the GETTING STARTED document alongside the sample code at https://github.com/Wacom-Developer/sdk-for-signature-windows.
The term "Lite" is used to distinguish the free version of the SDK from the paid version. Payment is required in the following situations:
1. You want to use the signature ISO format import and/or export facility
2. You want to encrypt the signature data within your app for further security
3. You want to use non-Wacom pen input devices
For details of the ISO and encryption enhancements please see the sections on "Signature Data Encryption" and Signature ISO Format" in the Signature Components API reference document which is provided in the "documentation" folder of the Signature SDK installation file.
The SDK itself can be downloaded at https://developer.wacom.com/en-us/developer-dashboard under "For signature".
Production licences must be obtained from your regional Wacom Sales Manager. If you don't know who this is please contact the Wacom Solutions Team at solutions@wacom.eu for assistance or use the "Submit a request" link at the top of this page.
The free production licence provided on Github (as mentioned above) is permanent i.e. there is no need to renew or replace it.
Fee-paid production licences are normally valid for 1 year and must be renewed on a yearly basis.
Licences are valid for every PC on which you install your application once you have included the license string in your code.
NOTE: The British spelling of the noun "licence" has been used in this article.
