Pen Displays - DTU-1141B, DTH-1152, DTU-1031AX
Setup for Wacom Pen Display Tablets in VMWare Horizon is similar to setting up any other USB Device in that virtualized environment.
It also requires local drivers to be installed on the host.
The general overview below provides high-level driver installation guidance for the 1031AX, 1141B, and 1152.
- Follow VMWare Horizon’s steps for USB redirection, for both the Pen and Touch portion of the tablet where applicable.
Wacom tablet pen and touch hardware use Wacom’s Vendor ID (VID) - 0x056a. Product IDs (PIDs) can be found in Device Manager or below.
Model | Redirection string |
---|---|
1031AX | VID_0x056a&PID_0x039F |
1141B | VID_0x056a&PID_0x0359 |
1152 | Pen: VID_0x056a&PID_0x035A |
1152 | Touch: VID_0x056a&PID_0x0368 |
- Install the appropriate display driver on the client.
Display Drivers
Model | Name of driver | Where to install |
---|---|---|
1031AX | MCT (Trigger family) | Local client |
1141B | DisplayLink | Local client |
1152 | Not required | N/A |
- Install the Wacom Digitizer/Tablet Driver on the VM/Host.
After this is done the Wacom tablet should work like any other redirected USB device in VMWare Horizon.
NOTES
VMWare has published a video on setting up a USB Composite device
Although the video is old it matches the Major Version of VMWare Horizon version 7.
If you need the product ID of a different Wacom pen device please see the full list here:

As noted above however we have only certified 2 STU devices and 3 DTUs.
